Who Are We?
In response to the current political landscape, artist Shannon Nix continues to ask herself - what would it look like if there was a space where we could feel less powerless?
A place where our passive rumination turns into external and active problem solving.
She believes that one voice can change the room AND can change the world -
but it has to come out to do so.
Enter The Cozy Rebel.
S. Nix knows the only way to make this spark a real connection is to intentionally value the voices around her. Now is the time to step out of her introverted comfort zone and to share her creative ideas with someone she's never met so in turn, they can share their ideas with people they've never met.
So, she spends her time speaking with people in communities all around her
and is impassioned by the need for a collective hope.
The Cozy Rebel is just that. The collective hope.
A place full of the people we see every day:
A grocery store clerk - The Creator
A mail-person - The Innovator
A local shop owner - The Knowledge Keeper
Who Are We?
We are a cozy corner of beautiful defiance.
We are hope in action.
We are art that revolts.
We are the people.
We are you.

What Are We Doing?
Looks like art. Feels like revolution.
In May of '25 THE LOVELUTION, a painting by S. Nix came to life and quickly became a vessel for connection. It sparked collaborations with groups like Arts For LA and the Independent Shakespeare Co., helping move art from the hands of the people into the offices of those elected to support our communities.
Through S. Nix's original works - printed on postcards - audiences were invited to handwrite letters to their representatives, urging them to protect artists and arts funding across LA County. Each message is a reminder that the arts aren't a luxury, but part of the very heartbeat of our cities.
By pairing creativity with direct action, we're amplifying our mission louder than ever.
This is a boots on the ground experience for those who are ready to build within their community. We are now in the process of building out city wide pop-ups for artists of all backgrounds to rest, reveal, and rebel.

Where You Come In
We've all been asking -
Am I alone in this?
How can I be of help?
Where can I go?
There is joy and healing in places where people are seen and heard.
We all have heads full of worry and hearts full of wisdom.
Opposing silence and isolation is where connection lives.
We have a plan and we want you to be in on it.
When we come together, that's the revolution.
